The Kindergarten children were introduced to the food pyramid. The children sorted and identified the food in their own lunch to create a class food pyramid. This was followed up with a food pyramid game.

The Kindergarten children are growing and learning every day. They are full of life and energy. I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach this class.

The children are working on identifying shapes. They are using shapes to complete pattern designs.

 

Fine Motor Skills September 13, 2010

   Fine motor skills development is an important component of early childhood development. The children engage in many learning activities to develop the pincer grip, the ability to hold objects between the thumb and index finger. Push pinning is a favorite activity of the children. The children use large push pins to create small holes, resulting in pushing out a shape.

                            The Kindergarten children have worked well with one another during recess to create a “crocodile lake” and an area to “fish.”
